Away on Holiday/Fierce Shoe Friday

So I am currently away for a short break in Madrid at the moment. I can't wait to blog about it when I come back. Myself and the bf have had such a blast, walking to all parts of the city and refuelling with copious amounts of Spanish cuisine. Post and pics to come soon...

Creme de la creme...

Today's Fierce Shoe Friday is Topshop's 70's inspired cream suede platforms. Perfect for a transition into Spring and the reintroduction of our hibernated toes to the world. Pair with palazzo pants or high waisted luxe material shorts. Yummy!

Happy Shopping and hope you have as fab of a Friday as I am having,

My month in Instagram...

January

I am a little bit obsessed with Instagram. I am no photographer but love the various filters and effects you can add to what would be such a mundane photo. I love the needless photos of what people are having for lunch, or what colour their nail varnish is for the week, 'selfies' or changing room outfits! It's become a daily routine of mine to insta my entire life and to hash tag away...

So, a new post I have decided to do...I like themes, is too post every month some of my favourite Instagram pics from the previous month. Of things I have done, like or ate (lol!) and links. Are you on Instagram? If so, you can find me @yasminaaniss.

Hope you all have a fab weekend,

Yas x

Fierce Shoe Friday

I❤ Heart❤ You...

Today's Fierce Shoe Friday, in honour of Valentine's Day next week, is Charlotte Olympia's Delphine suede platform.
A bite of candy heaven. In a 'will go with everything' pink blush hue, the Delphine is a perfect platform (and may I add perfect pressie...hint hint...).

The appliquéd scarlet heart only oozes more prettiness.  These can be found at Net-a-porter. Happy Shopping!

Happy Friday Everyone,

Yas x

p.s- In case I don't manage to post a Valentine's special ( I have a cheeky trip to Madrid next week...eeeehhh...), check out a friend of mine who also blogs 'Maeves Magic'- where she has written a cute post on a guide to be a singleton during Valentines!

Fierce Shoe Friday

Wow, I haven't blogged in ages. I hate giving excuses, but I really have been super busy...my business has expanded and adding that to my some what hectic and very un-organised life, this is literally my first moment I have stopped to sit and write a post, accompanied by a deserved glass of wine!!! A la Rihanna... Cheers to the weekend!!!!

Tickle me Pink

Today's Fierce Shoe Friday is a suede court shoe by Zara in hot pink. Obsessed with the colour. Most of my outfits of late have tended to be all black (no I'm not depressed) and have added a pop of colour though lipstick, shoes, a statement clutch and jewellery. This shoe totally fits the bill and will be in my shopping bag this time in two weeks (Madrid...eeeeehhhh!)

January Blues

January Blues...

Post-Christmas usually revolves a January of impossible resolutions, sky rocket gym memberships, tee-total nights out and empty pockets. Hence the dreaded January Blues.
So instead of retreating to the sofa to watch re-runs of last years tv with celery sticks and goji berries, I am embracing the January Blues with a blue hue for the whole month. Be it by painting my nails cobalt blue or wearing my sale-steal mixed blue tweed jacket I snapped from Zara (I have worn it four of the last six days...borderline obsession!).

I say embrace the January Blues with my set of blue inspired items...here here!

Enjoy your weekend, Yas x

Fierce Shoe Friday

Baby Spice...

Kicking of the first Fierce Shoe Friday of 2013 is Christian Louboutin's 'Rolling Spikes Patent Flat' in baby pink. How adorable are these shoes? Candyflosslicious!
The rolling spikes generally appeal to the girl that is looking to add a bit of fierceness or masculinity to their outfit; past colour-ways of this shoe have been the black with gold/silver spikes, tartan and leopard prints and fiery red.
This pastel hue will now entice even the girliest of girls to channel their inner girl power. Amen Mr Louboutin...

Happy Friday and Happy Shopping!

Reflections on 2012

It's a stereotypical statement to make about my year being the most eventful yet. But it really has. 2012 has seen many major life events, that usually happen over a number of years, happen in the one.

My proudest achievements this year are graduating from college with a first class honours degree. Going to University after I graduated from dance college three years ago was a backup plan, but one I'm ever so grateful for pursuing. Most importantly because I made a small circle of lifelong friends. I'm not really an assertive person when it comes to social circles. In fact, in public I can come across as quite stuck up. It's a facade I have learnt to put up because of previous lessons. So making connections with a small group of friends is something I cherish.

My second achievement is starting my own stage school and productions business. When someone tells you starting a business is hard, you never really understand till you try for yourself. It is possibly the most difficult task I have ever undertook. Countless nights over the past few months have seen me pacing my room trying to find ways of being successful. I'm a high achiever and very determined but the biggest difficulty I have faced is separating work life from private life. Being self employed is consuming. While I want my business to succeed and expand, I believe the key to a successful business is coming to it each day happy. I'm working on this.

I'm naturally materialistic. I like the finer things in life and believe that if you work your socks off, treating yourself is well deserved. I also like to lead a fast paced life, maybe because I'm from London and I enjoy that city buzz. I am not one to dilly dally around life. But with some recent events that have happened, the desire to live this lavish lifestyle has dwindled. My goal this year ( I don't like resolutions) is too enjoy life a bit more. Is it really necessary for me to work that extra day just to get that new coat?! I take life way too seriously and these recent events have just snapped me right back to reality. To appreciate the smaller things in life...

Thank-you to all the subscribers to leopardandbrut. I have really enjoyed writing posts...I just wish I could do it more often...

Happy New Year,

Yas x
